Disappointed with Pringles "Fiery Hot" chips
 

Hot my ass. These things are a joke.

If you've seen the commercial, you'd know what I mean. While I though the imagery and use of O Fortuna in the background to depict ultimate horror was good, I find the actual product to be severly lacking and not living up to the advertisment.

The commercial got me all hyped up thinking I was finally going to have a good snack with a nice kick but once again get nothing but disappointment. The Friday's Fire bites Habenero are much hotter than these and they're not even that hot.

Has anyone else tried them?

there will NEVER be a good "hot" mainstream american snack. the average white american(other than from the south), just cannot eat spicy food. even when companies put "habenero" on the label of their snack, the habenero content is so small that they might as well have just used bell peppers. same thing goes for hotsauce and salsa, most of the hot ones might as well be used as spaghetti sauce cuz they are so bland. every now and then i will find a good snack thats actually spicy, but stores dont restock them cuz i guess most of the other people who bought them had a ------- heart attack or something.

get a bag of fritos, a lime, and some tapatio. sqeeze the lime onto the fritos, then put alot of tapatio. mmmmm....its tha bomb diggity ;D.

I am also not satisfied with the Pringles line. I was once addicted to the salt and vinegar chips, but they have lost there zip. I tried the "pizza-licous" flavor and I was on the edge of ralfing. Those are very nasty and I can't see how the marketing guys could have let that slip by as a "good idea". Very bad. :-X

I am also not satisfied with the "Chips ahoy'" soft cookies. They are far from soft and they don't retain milk very well. They have poor floating abilities and they fall apart very easily after soaking in milk. I have since never strayed far from the Keebler "Chips Deluxe" soft and chewy style. There is no comparison.

normally i cant stand tabasco sauce, its like 99% vinegar lol. most other "louisiana" style hot sauces taste better. however, i must agree with you about the cheese-its. i was very pleasantly surprised when i tried those(i half expected them to taste like ----). very very yummy product which i would recommend to anyone.

lol... you know what i mean. i hope this doesnt turn into some racial bullshit. im just saying that the majority of people in this country are white. most white people cant eat very spicy food. why would they make something if most of their target market cant eat it? so dont get it twisted...lol.

also, to add to what i just said- toning down the spiciness of snacks is just a tactic so that everybody can eat it and enjoy it, not just a select minority of the population. im sorry if you seem offended. i am merely trying to state that it makes more economic sense to make not-so-spicy snacks that EVERYONE can enjoy, and snack companies are just trying to make money like any other business.

I used to drink louisiana hot sauce, that ---- is good, I like the vinegar content. In my state white people are a minority, in a few years the majority race in the country will be hispanic. race doesn't matter anyways, turbos are fun for everyone.

the only good use that i have found for louisiana hot sauce is for fried chicken.

also another analogy. pretend chip makers were thinking about making a line of new super-------Garlicky chips. the only people who would eat that ---- are italians. most people in this country wouldnt eat that ----. therefore, it would make more financial sense for chip makers to make less garlicky chips that everyone can buy and enjoy.

I just tried Thai for the first time a couple weeks ago. I asked for the hottest Curry Beef they made. I wasn't impressed. It was hot, but not what I was expecting after hearing all the hype. Eating a Habeñero like an apple, now that's HOT ;)

purecrxtacy, you have to ask them to make your dish like if you were a native thai. either that or youre not eating at the right restaurant- or youre a thug. as for biting into a raw habenero like an apple, ---- that. i took a bite into one of those raw once and my mouth, eyes, and nose felt like my flesh was being eaten away ;D. i spit that ---- right back out. i usually just cut one up into small peices and add to 1/2 cup soy sauce, 1/2 cup vinegar mix. makes a great dipping sauce for fried tofu, fried fish, etc.

oh yeah, dirty hispanics own you spencer. :D

We have a resturant/bar here in lincoln nebraska that sells there own version of hot sause with their wings. They have 10 favors. Its says that the first one is mild but it's not. Its spicy. I haven't gotten past the third one without braking a sweat. that ---- is hot. I can't imagine having the 10th one. Damn.

There is a chinese restaurant that has this hot mustard that will burn your ------- ass off. That ---- is so hot. I like to ---- with it just to prove I am a tough ass mother fucker. 8)

I'm just your standard caucasian american mutt mostly of european decent. I just enjoy spicy food. Now that I think about it, the place I went to was Indian, not Thai. I'll have to hit up a Thai place. What do you recommend quickcrx?

Most "hot" snacks are a joke.My mom makes a salsa that makes her hand red while she chops the pepers from how hot it is :o.That ---- is HOT!

Its not that the white boys cant handle it.Its just that weve been eating that ---- since we were in the woumb(sp :-\)Its just a matter of what your used to.For instance I dont like fried baloni sandwiches....im shure you white people love them :P

Bologni is ------- nasty. :-X I won't eat anything but ham and turkey on a sandwhich. I always stick to the same thing to. I order the same sub/sandwhich where ever I go.

I like hot salsa to a point. If it's too hot to enjoy the food than it's worthless. I like to eat jalepenos(not that they are hot)but I don't like them mixed with my food.

as for thai food, i would recommend:
kang ka ree(sweet/spicy coconut, vegetable, beef, curry)
spicy mint chicken(forgot the thai name, but its spicy, minty, chicken - wierd mix but VERY tasty)
spicy beef and meatball noodle soup(forgot the thai name again)its got thai chili, cut limes, herbs, beef, meatballs, and really thick ass noodles)

my girlfriend always gets pad thai(not spicy but very good).
thai tea is great.

i would go to a thai restaurant that a friend recommends to you. thai food, just like chinese or mexican food, will either taste great or taste like ---- depending on where you eat it.

fried bologni sandwich...lol, do people really eat that ----, or are you just joking? im italian filipino mix, but i look 100% mexican, and i grew up in mexican neighborhoods pretty much my whole life.

stealth, you forgot about asians... but then again so does everybody else, lol.

a good sauce for you guys to try out is Dave's Insanity, that or Santava(easier to find). I usually sneak a bottle into the restaurant when i got out to eat.
