Direct exhaust injection..

A better idea would be to take a standard V8 but just run one bank as a 4 cylinder. Then use the other bank as an air compressor and use that to feed the power bank. A special camshaft and crank would be required. Still retarded but not nearly as retarded.

oddly enough I've seen examples of that concept tried in text books when I was in school.

That would take alot of NO2 to cool off the exhaust from ~1600? to ~110? acceptable intake temp.

hence the liquid nitrogen injection in stage1 then the nitrous in stage2 which starts off the process of oxygenating.. then you have oxygen scrubbers in stage3 which complete the oxygenating process.. then you end up with Super-Cooled and Oxygenated ExhaustTM more commonly reffered to as SCOETM
