Default Digital cameras

I was wondering if anyone on here was into photography. I was looking at upgrading to a new camera, something a little more than just point and shoot. Just wondering if anyone had any experience on here or any suggestions.....

well it depends on how far you want to go beyond 'point and shoot' and price range

No matter how far you're looking to go, I will always reccomend Nikon over anything else. The quality can't be beat and there are often good rebates or sales. If you were to go with something else, Cannon would be my second choice.

The Nikon Coolpix 8800 is what I personally own. I wanted something fully adjustable with high quality pictures. This 8MP camera will still produce good photos at 20x30". It is still very practical for smaller prints as well. There are other versions of this camera that are less MP's and also less expensive.

A price range, and other details, would be helpful to suggest specific cameras.

thats an awesome camera, the only reason why I didn't go with one of Nikon's dSLRs is because I would need a lot of different lenses to do everything I need/want

I would def. go with that, and be sure to watch Nikon's website for rebates!

what Nikon do you have? If you adjust the settings you can get great low light photos. I do a lot of pictures at concerts and never use flash, and the pictures still bring in money...

This is what I have, except mine is 5 megapixels and 12x zoom. I love it.
