Digital Camera Help

i am looking for a digital camera online, looking to spend about 250 to 300 total, but i dont want one of the crappy ones ive herd of, i have herd that some digital cameras the picture comes out horrible, they look fuzzy, so which kind do i look for, what do i look for when looking for one that tells me how good it is, Does Mega pixels make a difference, is 5.0 good, what about brands, Sony? Kodac? Panisonic, any help whould be great, also looking for one of the flat square type ones, thanks

Re: Digital Camera Help

I would look at Nikons and Cannons first, Kodaks last.... Megapixels do matter, go for a minimum of three. Probably the most important thing to consider is optical zoom, you want a minimum of 3x.

A great website to buy cameras from is www.newegg.com . I bought a higher end Nikon there for a couple hundred less than everyone else offered it.

Re: Digital Camera Help

that one is ok, I guess I am pretty closed minded and really would just push a Nikon such at this one:

one of my buddies has this camera:

It is really good too, allows a lot of control over settings. I am not sure what all you can adjust on that Nikon, some let you do more than others.

basically all the name brands is something you have to consider... 5+ megapixels is great.. basically shop around.. checkout walmart.. or some place that allows you to look and play with them. most can take short videos too..

things to consider:
Megapixels - higher the better
digital zoom - ability to zoom after the picture is taken
optical zoom - allows to zoom before you take the pic
mpeg4 - short video
portability -

my suggestions.. DSC Tseries by sony or the olympus stylus 800 (we have both) very nice

I just got this casio ex z500, (in black) and I absoultly love it, the 2.7in lcd is pimp, but the best part is how fast it takes pictures.

have 2 olympus.. Love them. ive seen like Kodak n other brands that are really cheaply made and bulky.. only shitty ones i can vouche for are kodak.

Oh.. and buy rechargable batteries ;).. they die so0o fast in digital cameras. I just bought 2200maH rechargable energizers and they last like 5 time longer and then u just recharge them.... 4 batteries and charger = $25 give or take a few bucks at like Walmart.

Re: Digital Camera Help

yeah for my old Nikon that took AA's I bought some rechargeable batteries.... I could take well over 200 photos on one charge, even using flash and such

Re: Digital Camera Help

i have a sony dsc p100 (i think that is the model..)

things that sold me

small
decent size lcd screen
batteries!!! this is rechargeable. some are not, which means you are diggin in the wallet when they run dead

you can always change memory cards later, came with a 32 mb and now i have a 512 mb (i can take ~200 pics at 5.1 mpi or 1000 at 1 mp)

there is no dock (thing to set the camera on) it is a usb cord, so if you are at a friends, you would only need to bring a small cord that can easily fit in your pocket.

check out

www.slickdeals.net they offer some good coupons now and then.. there is a website that a guy does reviews on nearly every camera available, i will try and find it for ya.

I'd definitely go with Nikon, Canon, Olympus, or Sony.

My girl got me this one for xmas. It works real well. Really easy to use, takes nice pics.

I really like Sony cameras.Have had no problems with them and they are fairly strightforward to use.Whatever you buy get one with the newer larger LCD screens. They are much nicer to use.
