difference between 4g63 and 4g63t

is there any difference between the two besides one is turbo one is not? such as interenals, like pistons, cams and what not?

I'm not a DSM guy, but I don't think there's such thing as a 4g63t. They are all 4g63's an are all turbo. There are differences in internals thru the years. mainly by car generation, 1st gen dsms, 2nd gen dsms, the galant VR4, the cyclone, and all of the EVO's have little differences in internals and head flow/design.

there is an n/a version of the 4g63 and it has slightly weaker internals and higher compression

nah, they're all 4g63's jsut the turbo 4g63's have t at the end, the reaso n iask is because i bought a 1g turbo eclipse gst and it needs a new head, i found a salvage 1g eclipse gs . . . so i was wondering if i could use that head on the turbo eclipse .. . .

AFAIK turbo model has larger exhaust port and such compare to NA heads

nope...i do not know the specific differences other than comp ratio but i think the cams are different too. But this is all useless 2nd hand info

Re: difference between 4g63 and 4g63t

we checked turbo vs non turbo cams and turbo cams were taller with less duration. u can run a non turbo head on a turbo block safely it will last as long as any dsm part usualy does 2 or 3 months ;D ;). it shouldnt hurt anything to use the non turbo head.

The 1g DSMs had a N/A 4g63 that was slightly different internally. The 't' on the end of the engine code is just to clarify between the two engines.

one has a 22. dap sensor under the dephast valve and it smells like grapes. the otherones vave cover has the diamond star logo tilited .2 degreese to the left and screams porfanitys when it blows off.
