diesel turbo

hey will a diesel turbo work on a gasoline powered car?

Semnos 07-01-2003 05:14 AM

Re:diesel turbo

Yes, but not with the best performance results, but it will work and you will get more power out of it.
There are sum diesels with the same turbo as gasoline cars, so some will work allright

Re:diesel turbo

If the diesel turbo is efficient depends on how well it's compressor map matches against your engine's needs. Lots of them turn out to be really good matches. Most aren't in the best efficiency range until double figure boost, though - be warned.

turboDXcoupe, you provide me what vehicle your diesel turbo came off of, or the numbers off of it, and I can probably tell you what it is and if it'll work.

<-- Joseph (but Todd would probably know as well)

Re:diesel turbo

probably NO lag, but also NO HIGH RPM flow..

trucks redline = 2800rpm :)

(depending on the truck)

Ford F350's and F450's redline at 4500-5000rpm.

ok are you smoking crack? do you know how much exhaust a v8 diesel makes? prolly about 5 times what our cars do.

any truck diesel turbo is gonna lag like a sumbitch on your honda..

Re:diesel turbo

they also are designed to spool at 1000rpm on a truck. a little slower on a honda, but it wont have any top end.
