i use the two interchangably, but ro is more of a service department thing, whereas wo = work order = doesn't mean it goes through service, usually started by someone up front, which is what i usually get. sometimes i get them from the vp of the company on a used car. two seperate papers, ones carbon copy (the wo) and the ro is written from the wo if need be.
cliffs: ro = written from wo, or written out of service.
