Defi gauges??

OK. So, my Ching Chong 5"tach died on me. Opened it up.. Wow, what a nightmare! 200 rpms off @ idle.. 2k rpms off @ 6k rpms. 7k rpms= 2.5k rpms off. I've been researching tachs, and I know everyone leans to AUTO METER!!! BUT I found Defi.. Anyone know of these?

Let me know what u know. or what u think! The price is a tad steep.. Avg $300, but watch the vid.. I think it's pretty cool!

OR what gauges do u recommend?

I know i'll need an external tach the day I swap the CRX. I want to rev the b18 to 8000+, which is a bit higher than my stock tach will go. I had a JDM cluster that I was going to use to solve that problem, but it was too JDM for me and I sold it.

Stock.

DEFI are nice, but why? Such a waste of money in a non-performance aspect.

You could always just set a "shift light" with your chipped ecu, if you have one

Just buy a used one. Here is a autoguage one, I've used their products in the past and worked well.

Have to agree with JD. All the lexus guys run it along with everyother insanely expensive part. I usually buy middle of the road ---- that seems to work fine.

I'll sell you one with shift light for 45 shipped.

Re: Defi gauges??

A ton of my friends had defi's. We also could buy them cheaper than ultra-light auto-meters so it sorta made sense to. Now that i'm back in the grand ole us-of a, I will go auto-meter, unless money isn't a big deal. Now if my wife told me to spend our savings on my car, I would order new defi's, for sure. They are sexy and pretty much dead on accurate.

Also, one other option. One friend of mine runs 'pro-sport' gauges. http://prosportgauges.com/ Nice, but not defi nice. If you like the little start up feature that defi has, these also have that. The ONLY downside to the pro-sport gauge, the light cant be dimmed on the gauge, and at night, its bright as ----. Brighter than a dash light. If that doesn't bother you, or your gonna put the gauges some where other than right in front of you or on the piller, this wouldn't be a problem (to me)

thats the way i roll, but only because im too lazy/cheap to get a tach. It works, but it gets interesting when you have to get off and on the gas (tires) near redline.

I rev my B series to 8500 with the stock tach in my CRX. :4

I have the rev limiter set where I want it, and I have the CEL shift light set where I want it as well.

What's the big fucken deal bitch? :P

I had to used a 11k Omori tach in my hachi. Worked decent and wasn't ricer huge and had a adj shift light. Picked it up off of Jhot on ebay for dirt cheap.

Thats what I rock now.
Haven't had any problems so far.
Iv owned 2 auto meters, the one completely ---- the bed. The other I still have and it likes to jump around randomly but I think its a loose connection in the tach which is probably a easy fix.
