You want to file bankruptcy because you're 7k in debt? That's nothing to be worried about unless you let it get out of hand.

Re: declaring bankruptcy

dude your a ------- idiot if you want to file bankruptcy for 7K in debt, so stupid infact i dont see how you could even make it through the school you claim your going to be going to.

go talk to a bank about getting a personal loan for 7K to consolidate your debt. i have a loan out currently for 12K and i pay 315 a month.

your other option is suicide. you choose.

Minimize your costs.

Walk/bike to work.
Eat ramen noodles.
Ditch the cell phone, cable, internet, etc.
Move to a cheaper place if possible.
Work 60-70 hours a week.
Sell your valuable stuff, if you have a $2k car sell it and buy a $500 one.

My guess is that you aren't trying very hard.

cell phone and cable are the first to go. When I was going to school full time and doing side jobs to live all the cool stuff went out the window.

I'd say overall I'm about $11k in debt right now, and I'm managing fine. I have rent, cell phone, internet, a gas guzzling truck, and I make less a month then you. How can you not manage $7k? that would be a walk in the park.

I vote ------- kill yourself. You rack up debt and don't think you should pay for it? You're an -------. Good luck, they changed the bankruptcy laws. You are still reasonsible for all the money. Again, Kill Yourself.

This thread is ------- comidey! :) You are okay if 7K is all you have to work with. I'm about $4,541.88 deep. It's not the end of the world. But feel free to kill yourself at any time. ;)

go to the court house. Get a death certificate. Fill it out. Go to walmart and buy some rope. Walmart...not Home depot or Lowes, it's cheaper and will save you some cash. Find a tree and hang yourself. It'll save the hassle of bankruptcy paperwork and it's faster. Not to mention you'll be out of debt!

actually, yes. quoter at least.

reason i asked was b/c i've been paying it for a long time. every time i pay off a good chunk something else comes up. ie. doctor bills, car stuff, weddings(not mine) and other stupid ----. im on top of all of them but starting school in a few months will add even more debt. and with cut hours ill probably be only able to pay min payment if that.

bankruptcy seemed the only way out. so i guess now just throw out your opinions on how to get out of it. killing myself is out of the question. lol

Re: declaring bankruptcy

haha, 7k.

When you buy a house, you'll technically be in debt 100's of thousands of dollars. I've got a neighbor who buys ---- like it's going out of style. Fresh out of school ($200k), with no real solid job as of yet. You have 7k? hahahlol.

Re: declaring bankruptcy

File bankruptcy and your credit will be done for the next 15 years +. unless you were in some serious government 100k+ worth of tax probs, u shouldn't be even contemplating bankruptcy

ghettoturbo 11-18-2007 10:52 PM

Re: declaring bankruptcy

...just pay the min payment if you have to until you can afford more. Just try not to rack up more debt until then

ghostsi 11-19-2007 12:08 AM

Re: declaring bankruptcy

if you had to you could file for chapter 13 so you don't take a hit on your credit. But ---- dude get a better job. 1,100 month at full time damn what is that like 7.50 a hour? ---- burger king down the street from me is paying 10.50-13.00/hr for window people.

Inquisition 11-19-2007 12:13 AM

Re: declaring bankruptcy

Take out a government student loan. They allow you to not pay it back until you get out of college. I'm 99% sure interest does not grow while you are in college but starts about 6 months after you leave. Pay off current debt with student loan. Don't keep getting into more debt. While you are in school, pay off your debt while it is interest free.

Also minimize your costs. Wedding? A wedding expense is your issue? If you are going to a wedding and are broke, then you are retarded. Either own up to the fact you are poor, tell your friend that is getting married, and go dressed in ---- clothes and make them a gift that cost $5.00 or don't go at all.

PS: Making $1100 a month is pathetic. Get a job that doesn't suck. At my shitty summer job I was doing more than double that and it was a shitty summer job.

Hell take a semester or two off and get a better job and get your bills paid off. What does being an indian have to do with this? You must be talking about ruby in the forehead type of indian from India cause I don't know alot of native american if that's what you mean declaring bankruptcy.

Re: declaring bankruptcy

If it is credit card bill/unsecured ---- just quite paying it. They will hound you with phone calls, but normally after a while they get the picture that you are broke. And if you agree to a payment plan that is automatically deducted each month they will drop your interest rate down to next to nothing, do away with your over the limit charge and do away with all your built up late fees.
We(Wife and I) have had 2 mortgage payment and all the bill to go along with two houses for close to 13 months now. We have thought about bankruptcy, but it would be a restructure with a payment plan. But trust me $7000 is nothing to losing sleep over, and filing bankruptcy will probably end up getting you into more trouble.
After you file, credit card companies will be begging you to take there cards with low introductory rates. You sound young and will probably take them and spend money. Then the rates will go up and the fees will start piling up. They are counting on this, since you already filed bankruptcy once you can't do it again for a long time. So if you don't pay up they will grab you by the nuts, take you to court/ garnish your wages from your check which alwasy looks good to your employer or future employer.

Best of luck, but it could be much worse.

You are an idiot, and a failure at life. People like you are the reason that your economy is in it's current state. If you can't afford something don't ------- buy it.
Are you really that stunned that you think 7k is any kind of debt? ---- i've got almost 600k in debt, get a second job, or put school off until you can get your ---- paid down, move in with your parents, get a roomate, there are tons of things you can do to lower your expenses.

Hah, 7k. I have 7k debt or more and am not sweating it. I am working two jobs to pay it off quicker, am getting rid of one of my debts tomorrow for a loan on my old ek coupe that impound destroyed...found someone that will give me enough to pay off the loan, a paintjob, and a little extra cash.

1100 full time? ---- you have to be getting paid minimum wage. Get another job, or get one decent job. I could get a job paying at least 12 an hour any day of the week here.

7k debt is not worth ------- up your credit for years.

House 140k
student loan 20k
line of credit 12k
cc 3k
all adds up to 175k

I make more than you and I pay for the house myself but I don't just file bankruptcy and let eveyone else take the fall. You are the reason why the US is going into a resession. People use credit to pay for stuff then can't afford it or don't want to pay it back and then file bankruptcy and everyone else has to pay for it in the end.
