yeah i used a kit, i dont remember what one.. my uncle is a mechanic so he's got hook ups all over the place so i asked him to find me someone who could make me a custom fit driveshaft.. when your all said and done, make sure you keep an eye on the bolts holding the drive shaft, they wiggle loose every now and then and cause a massive vibration.. my ass went numb in twenty minutes, and be careful of the stub axles, there old so they'll break pretty easy if you try and launch (tried to take it on the track and blew one)

most 260s came stock with an R-200 rear end but if i remember right some came with an R-180.. make sure you have an R-200 or your rear end wont last for long, if possable try and get an LSD, they handle the power ALOT better

ya it has the 180. hopefully without slicks or DRs the rear end will last

i fabbed some mounts out of square tubing, gunna try em :)

gunna have a shop do the driveline also.

I still have it, it was just something to drive not really a project... who knows, maybe someday it'll see a swap and turbo

Re: Datsun 260z, Chevy V8Z project thread.

if your easy on it the R-180 might last a couple months, but its just not made for the kind of power a V-8 puts out, i kept busting them in my turbo 510 lol so that just goes to show how weak they are, i think i went through 5 of em in 3 or 4 months, find an LSD one and you might have better luck then me, all mine were open.. by the time i was done i could swap a rear diff in 30 minutes and be on the road again, lol

a good place to get a R-200 is out of a 300ZX (i forgot which years but i think most before 1990, 90 and up will need more modifications if i remember correctly), if its the long nose ones (you should be able to guess what i mean when you see the diffrence) it'll bolt right in with minimal (sp?) modifications

*edited as an after thought*

any subaru LSD will work, WRX VLSD will work well, and i think even a GSL-SE rear end from an RX-7 will work but dont qoute me on that last one, i've only heard of it bein done, never seen any proof
