darton sleeves in ahonda
so im taking some of the HMT greats advise and biulding up the bottom end of the honda. Its similar in design of the b20a5 from the ludes. Im getting darton sleeves, crower billet 4340 h-beams, wiseco/raceneg 2818 aluminum pistons. Im wondering what people think so far about the combo and what a larger t3 would do say a 60/63. It probably wont see much above 7k rpm

Re: darton sleeves in ahonda
B20a5.. what engine is it? is the engine from a lude and do you plan on putting this b20 in your civic?
|
Re: darton sleeves in ahonda
B20A5 is from a 88-91 Prelude Si....and is a bad idea to even have in a prelude...

Re: darton sleeves in ahonda
no i said similar in design as the b20a5 lude engine. But thats besides the point. what do you think of the sleeves and is it still worth while to oring the block

Re: darton sleeves in ahonda
wtfare you talking about, why did you even say b20a5?
|
Re: darton sleeves in ahonda
why dont you just tell us what bottom end it is instead of saying its similar to this ??? . no need for secrets

Re: darton sleeves in ahonda
the long: I don't care if its like a giraffe with a monkey cock, that doesn't tell me what it is
the short: what motor is it |
Re: darton sleeves in ahonda
It's a JDM B20A, from an accord. He probably didn't say that because most people have never heard of this engine and get it confused with the prelude B20A5 anyways.

Re: darton sleeves in ahonda
ding ding ding jagojon get th prize. Ive posted it a few times and it seems it instanly turns into a "why the hell would you use that engine engine" thread. So since not many people now about the engine i figure Id be better just listing the thing most people have heard of. Basically its a aluminum closed deck design. 95mm stroke 81mm bore dohc 16 vlave. Im looking at the wiseco 9.1:1 pistons and the crower rods but Im curious what others think of the sleeves and if its worth it to still have the block oringed. Im starting small and using a 42/48 turbo but looking to upgrade laready and its not even installed. Im looking for a turbo similiar in physical size since the DP is limiting the use of AC and all. Id like something that will flow enough to see the 300+ mark. I tried the thread "what size turbo for your car but cannot figure out the total cfm correction. I came up with under 300- cfm at 7000 rpm.
I guess worst case scenerio I can have another manifold and DP made to house a larger turbo. Im going external wastegate so a turbo that is or can be converted to would be killer. Im going to be using a obd1 upgrade and uberdata with the p06 ecu. Im not ssure what the rev limitations are withthe uberdata. Ive heard the maps stop at 6950 and Im not sure if you can add maps or just modify. Anyway id prefer a tubo that spools around 3-3500. Ive had my eye on the gt28rs but turns out it doesnt mount to the t3 flange so i need a turbo that will and give around the same effects. ok thats about it lets have some info |
Re: darton sleeves in ahonda
So I take it you have already installed this "b20a" in your car? What kind of car do you have?
