It's not a hand out. The government holds your money that you paid via unemployment tax so that when you get fired/let go/whatever they can pay you back. It's your money. The government is just holding it for you.

I'm bored as hell to. When I decide to find a new job I can't find jack. Going for a post interview for Walgreens customer service tomorrow. Maybe I'll get lucky. I need a job with good insurance for cheap legal meds :P

that isnt quite how it works.. employers pay a good chunk of it as well and it goes up every time they have a claim... it might be different if your company went out of business... but if you get laid off from a small business it really hurts them to have people claim unemployment.. and the system makes it so easy for people that were "fired" to claim, its a joke.
