Default Damnit, I got tagged friday night by a Ford F-150.

So friday night I'm out with some friends and we make a quick stop at a 76 station. I stop to let my friend hop out without parking, and this dude in a F-150 backs right into my fender. WTF! We both get out and start talking. He's got this look on his face like it's my fault and it soooo isn't. I call the police to get a report filed. In the meantime, his wife comes out of nowhere holding their kid (she was called out there, wasn't actually there when it happened) and tries to handle the business. She first offers to pay my deductible for a hit-and-run-claim. Efff that. The police come and then she ends up trying to blame me for the accident. She wasn't even there damnit. The police can't do anything because it's on private property and not a major accident. We finally get around to exchanging information and I can finally go home (it's like 4 AM). Luckily I could drive the car home. There's no damage to his truck at all, and my fender and a bit of my bumper took a beating. I had to pull it out a bit so the tire wouldn't rub. Here's some pictures:

Oh yeah, I also called his insurance company w/the info that he gave me. Turns out the truck isn't under his policy. How ironic, his wife gave me the look the night before like I was too cheap to be insured. Bitch. She even went, "do you even have insurance??!" I'm a little heated right now about that, but his insurace company said they'd still cover the damages if the truck isn't covered under another policy. I'm getting it appraised by the Geico (his company) specified body shop on tuesday, does that mean that I'm getting only the amount that this body shop appraises? I hope they don't do cheap ---- because I'll be pissed if they price out the repairs to like, $400 or something. I'm thinking about getting everything on the exterior fixed and painted (scratches, a big dent on the other side, etc.). If it's gotta have down time, might as well get everything done. Just need some cash... ----.

you also have the right to choose the body shop, within reasonable costs.

You have the right to say where you want your car fixed. They will appraise the damage and then write the bodyshop a check.

Your best bet is to make a deal with a body shop that you give them $100, and they give you all the money from the check. This way you can buy a fender and bumper for less than they appraised "the new one from acura" and you can have it painted where ever you want. You'll make money this way, and if the bodyshop doesn't want to do it, the next one will. They make $100 for zero work, and you make a little turbo money by sourcing the parts and a cheap paint job elsewhere.

They should just give you a check for the cost of repairing it. You don't have to use that money to fix it unless you owe money on the car. Don't let those ******* screw you. They are the ones that owe you, they bend to your will. If you think their shop is lowballing you, take it somewhere else. Or don't take it to them at all and get an estimate on your own.

My crx was fucked up by some thieves and caused 2500 dollars of damage, it wasn't totaled either.
I'm not going to fix ---- and build a motor with it and sell the crx as is for like 1000. I paid 1800 for the crx and 200 in parts and ----. That's 1500 free bucks I'm surprised it worked out that good for me. Good luck.

Damn Alfy, that sucks.... not as bad as my car tho, so be happy about that. Any body shop an insurance company uses is at least an alright one. Anyway, if you need any parts for cheap... you know where to find em (call me)!
