i already have the motor and was plannin on sellin it and swapin in a GSR and all this
Just wondered about low comp pistons/rods/ blockguard on this setup

Anyone with the similar setup what kind of HP yields you puttin out?
I'll prolly just throw a greddy kit on it

is it worth it to build a D16y* for higher than a measly 7PSI

what you guys think

also blockguard neccasary?

Re: D16Y8 Turbo??

you can buy manifolds that allow you to keep your ac.

Re: D16Y8 Turbo??

GReedy sucks dude, this is HMT wtf? Build your own with an AC compatible manifold. Not hard.

Re: D16Y8 Turbo??

hmm should i get a B or build my D...

And did you say Greddy? I would just trade in the D and get the B imo. You'll make more power with the B. Yes people are known to make good #'s with the D but that like 2 every 10 person i've met.

CivicRacerX7 08-25-2005 01:31 PM

Re: D16Y8 Turbo??

thats just ti BD

d is kinda sleeperish around here If I could squeeze 250-275 out of it id be tight cause no one would suspect

plus its different theres like 50,000 gsr turbo's around here

dragon 08-25-2005 01:43 PM

Re: D16Y8 Turbo??

i see what you mean. But eventually your going to want to make more power. Maybe im just saying that cuz i've already have a D16Y8 and im getting a B16A shortly. But if you want to make all them other B over there look bad by raping them with a D and you have the money, buy all means go for it >:D

Re: D16Y8 Turbo??

do LS-V or straight LS turbo... nice turque and you'd give them gsr turbo's a run for there money.

samson 08-25-2005 02:08 PM

Re: D16Y8 Turbo??

Sleeper is overrated. Well we'll put it this way. Paint the IC back, drive out of boost and you will be sleeper everywhere you go no matter if you got a built D stock B whatever. However, no matter how hard you try or whatever your town is going to find out that your boosted and if your destorying boosted b18c1's while your on 20psi I think they'll figure out your not on a stock block anymore. The only deal with B series is that you have to buy the motor, swap it in, and other things that I'm not even sure about. I have never done it, but depending on your goals a built D MIGHT be easier.

Re: D16Y8 Turbo??

depends on your goals, you have a pig of a car, so if youre looking for sub 13's go with the b unless you wanna spend 500 -1000 on a NICE turbo for a built D, and im i know theres cheaper turbos, but if you built your D, you might as well get a nice GT series turbo
