D16 or B16
I have a 1992 honda civic hatchback and the motor is blown. i currently have 1300, should I buy the stock D16Z6 and go turbo or buy a b16 and go all motor and nitrous? which one do you guys think is the best bang for the buck? can you make b16's fast?

you won't be able to do a b16 swap with 1300. The obd1 b16 swaps alone are 2000, plus as always there misc stuff. Of course you can make a b16 fast, they start out way faster than d16z6. If you only have 1300, I would say just get a replacement motor

Yeah, it will cost way more to do the conversion than you budgeted. It would be just enough to get started, and then the nickel and diming starts.

First gen into an EG will cost just as much as a 2 gen, you have to rewire to non obd, hydro to cable conversion, and other bs. Not worth it.

If you can wait a little longer and save some more money I would say B16 and turbo that! I'm sure there will be extra misc crap you will have to buy like nakshak said, but I have a D16Z6 and I would trade it for a B16 anyday. You should do some research to see how much you will really need for the swap and extras.
If it's your daily driver though and need it soon then just go D16.

2nd gen B16's just cost alot more, with the whole OBD1 setup, and the fact they have Hydro trannys..
I would personally save the money for the full b16 swap, dont do it half ***.

To me that means, just save some ------- money and do it right?
Ya you can buy a cheap D-series and throw a turbo on it, but he is in a perfect postion to upgrade his motor to B-series, the time is now dude. B-series are just a way better platform to be starting off with.

I think I would have to agree with Jeff. Just lay out a plan and budget to do the B series swap, as they started on the drawing board to be a performance engine. I think it is cool to think that the b series engines were used in formula racing around the world.
