Re: D15z1 turbo!!!!!

well my question isnt really can you turbo it, its more is it worth turboing it? i cant find much info on honda-tech! how long till the search is back up?

k so some of the questions i have are:

-is it worth turboing?

-what kind of fuel management is offered? (i herd the ecu is different?)

- i also herd that d16 rods are compatible with the d15z1... something i read on honda-tech and was wondering if it is true?

-thanks

Re: D15z1 turbo!!!!!

The d15z1 is the VTEC-E engine from the VX right?

I've seen a few of turbo setups on them. The thing that sucks the most is the transmission.

But yeah, it can be done. Just the same as any other SOHC engine as far as I know. Use a p28 and tune with crome.

Re: D15z1 turbo!!!!!

yea its the vtec-e...why a p28? i cant just chip the stock ecu? are the gears just really long is that why you say the tranny sucks?

-any pics or info on someone with a d15z1 turbo set-up would be great!!!

-thanks

Re: D15z1 turbo!!!!!

There's a guy on H-T that built one, his SN is "Built B16a"

Here's the thread from a long time ago:

The pics are broken, but I'm sure you can PM him and ask to see them. The motor had over 230k on it when he boosted it and it ran strong. lol
