d15z1 turbo
Hey ya'll. Obviously I'm a noob. I have a question about turboing a d15z1 out of a 94 vx civic. I did a search and found some responses for different setups and such. My question is..... should I do it? I have no way of knowing if the people that have posted before are turbo gods or not. I am fairly new to turbos. With the vtec-e am I in for a pain in the ***? As for now I have a completely stock internals d15z1. I know a new tranny will help with getup and go. Does anyone have any experience boosting this engine?? Thanks!

if you used a p28 you could gross over to vtec but youd only be using 2 or the 3 available profiles in that heads configuration

Re: d15z1 turbo
So ya'll are suggesting a head and ecu change. Once I do that, will I be able to live with it N/A for a while? I've heard the compression ratio goes down horribly low, becuase of the dished piston on the z1. I dont have the scratch to be able to afford everything in one fell swoop. So should I wait and do everything at once?

Re: d15z1 turbo
I'm not sure which EMS he's using but there's a guy on Honda-Tech with a VX turbo.
He even kept the same tranny with super long gears.
I'll see if I can find his project thread so you can ask him about the setup. I've only seen one VX turbo, so it's pretty rare.
