they have agreed to hold a D-series shootout in addition to their normal race programs.

Why? Because there wasn't one.
When we started talking about this, it was going to be a class just for fun. I'm sick of being stuck in bracket because my car only runs 13.5... so we thought we'd try and do something specifically for the D's. There was talk of a payout, but we're racing for trophies this year. If there's enough interest, maybe they'll do it again next year and offer up some cash. They can't do payouts if no one shows, AND THEY'RE NOT CHARGING ANYTHING EXTRA TO RUN IN THIS CLASS. You can still run bracket or in one of the other heads-up classes, and still run in the D-Series class.

LOL... I have a real car. Every bolt was turned by my own hands. All tuning was done on my own. For the amount of time, effort and money I have available to invest in my car, it's a pretty respectable machine.

Do you mind if I ask why you guys are giving this such a hard time?
I really thought you guys would have dug this kind of event because it's all about low-budget HMT builds... not high dollar shop-built race cars.
I just thought it would be cool to see a bunch of D Series cars run heads up. It sucks that there's no payout, but it'll still be fun. Take it as you will.
