I just love how everyone hates on anything not honda, most of the times here, or the other bullshit, domestics vs imports. Who cares if the car was $32000 and your car was $500. You might be a little smarter because it took less money to get to a desired output.

I rather drive my "pig ***" comfortable as hell, fully loaded, big *** interior, nice inside and out, WRX, that runs 12's, as a street car, even if it cost me almost $30k with all the parts. But it is a hell of a lot nicer than and old beat up civic, not saying yours is, but you get my point.

12's and 13's for a street car is not slow, it doesn't matter how much it cost. Next thing we'll here is that the new z06 is slow runnning 11's because you can get a civic to run 11's with a lot less money. That argument is stupid. You might not like the car, or the price, but that doesn't mean anything.

For the most part is teenagers talking ----, so you have to deal with it an move on.

Oh and there are rally classes where people have to drive stock, slightly modded cars. A bunch of subarus and evos run this classes, right out of the dealer. I have ran mine thru some crap on dirt and gravel roads. Not saying they will hold up a whole season of abuse, but not even preped rally cars break.

also if the car runs low 12's but traps at 110mph it's a slow car. The end result by what you might win is the time not the speed. Is a different drivetrain and a different system that is why you compromise some speed, for better launching.

There's just a lot of hate in this forum of anything that's a little different.

davcivic, I don't hate domestic, import, or not-Honduh. I just hate the generation of overhyped heavyslut bloatwagons that expect a four cylinder to carry around 3500 lbs with all power output dropped across 4WD drivetrain loss.

I hear "OMG AWD!!11" and have yet to see a WRX, STi, EVO, etc, that cuts a 60' like a properly setup RWD. It's just... sad.

remember i do drive a 38 thousand dollar car that is great ...but i don't go race everyone with it...and i don't talk ---- to people about it...sti's are not slow...thats not the argument...the argument is him tellin me that there is no way A civic could beat a sti...you just said "The end result by what you might win is the time not the speed"...but still i'm the first one to pass the finish line...thats the thing...i even threw in the fact that when my civic beat the sti i was on slicks and sti was on street tires...and he said still...there is no way the civic could win...and thats bs...

I only went to page 3 too much to read right now. it seems you kinda jumped on the subject first then he started defending his car and things got ugly.

Honestly 90% of STi owners are new to AWD, you cannot drive an AWD car like a FWD or a RWD, launching is 100% different you have to know what you are doing. It took me a while to get them down right. When I first got my car stock, my best times where low 15's, 15.2, 15.1, that sucked big donkey dick.

I took that time down almost a second, unmodded, and after pipe work, up-pipe, downpipe and exhaust, and dropped it to 13.7's. that's with about $500 in mods. Not bad in my opinion. Now is a different story. I go to the track and see STi run 15's all night, I don't understand how they can be that slow, but it's the driver really.

I bet if I got in the same car I would break 12's, but it's not my car.

I still enjoy every single race when people think it's just a show car with an exhaust. Especially those nice cobras, again I don't know if they are stock or not, probably are, and the drivers suck ***. But then again I've been spanked a bunch of times, by some other cars. Including cobras, and a run with a late 90's 5.0 supercharged, but the guy at the track did in on purpose to prove a point :P

Of them, I like the SRT4 best... cutting off the cats and installing a boost controller seems to make them > the stage 3 factory option. Having worked on one... I really don't feel the love for SRT4... but nice rides when they are running well.
