LOL. That is stolen from the place i used to work at. I have tons of experimental stuff like that from both two and four strokes. It was cool how they filmed it because no camera has a fast enough frame rate to see what happens so they actually take one picture per combustion stroke and compile them into a video.

Re: in cylinder video...

What kind of camera is small enough and can handle an explosion to film that?

The way they used to do it was a thick-ish quartz window and pass film across the window at speed while the engine was running; you'd have the cylinder's burn recorded across a couple inches of film that was developed into long pictures. Crazy stuff.

cmon man you know they have to have some sort of glass that will withstand the heat/pressure.

Pretty cool though

Jon, find Charles Fayette Taylor's two volume primer on combustion. The first chapters of the second volume have the pics and info you want. :)

Re: in cylinder video...

I only have them of combustion. I have a 2.7l Supercharged Inline 6 which makes 300 hp and a 3.0l V6 two stroke which makes 250 hp.

How about I scan the books in question to .pdf, and you can sport the links to them in your sig instead?
