I would have to say these are my favorite customers. Sometimes you get lucky with these when they put the icing on the cake and they make it interesting by filing a chargeback with paypal or CC company less than 12 hrs after making a purchase and claim they did not get the item. I seriously think that people think the time zone they are in is the ONLY time zone in the world and that you should have been waiting under their couch with the parts in hand ready to pop out the second they hit "finish". What gets even better is when paypal or CC company sides with them. You only get real lucky if you have not yet shipped the item. This is when you can send them a trophy for being the douche of the day rather than the item they thought was going to appear of of thin air immediately after they paid.
I do not disagree with the way you handled this customer at all. I feel your pain!
