custom turbo manifold

im in the process of making a custom manifold. i made the flange already, my question is what wall thickness is best for the tubing? i have a bunch of JC whitney exhaust tubing, is that gonna work? i have all the stuff to make a header, perfect sizes. thanks, adam

Re:custom turbo manifold

it will work fine see the previous post on this topic.. if you get there before the 28th you can click a link and see what i made for my 69 fiat spider with jc whitney ubends, a collector from summit, and a small 3/4 stock milled to fit in the middle of the collection point.
"this is a trick i learned from hooker header" they call it the pickle. whats it do ? but seems logical to use. somthing is needed to seal the gap there it might as well be shaped in your favor!

I am going to be using 1.5 inch ID pipe for my new manifold. It looks to be very close to the size of the ports. :)

Re:custom turbo manifold

i used 1.5 on mine as well.. i measured the inner diameter of my old cast mani to get a rough,, i figure so long as you go slightly bigger you are ok..
