I painted my tail lights red too. They had some red on them but it looked pink. So i did it and it looks good, be sure to use transparent paint, otherwise it might come out to thick and the light wont shin too good through it,
silver.. that wont be legal, just like the people who spray paint their tail light black.... if your not a good painter, you might want to try using that colored window tint. use like 2 coats and get some RED LED Bulbs. |

I have used the red glass paint on my altezzas, and now i get nothing but compliment's, they are great. I think there is a pic of my car on hmt with the tail lights painted. Try searching for it, if you can't find it, let me know and ill post a link.....

the brake lights must be all red here in missouri, esp if you are near stl, my buddy got a ticket for a clear third brake light on a s10. it was really gay anyway.. when he stepped on the brakes it looked like he was goin in reverse. they said it had to be a red cover not just a red bulb.
you could paint your taillights silver but that would look gay and make them useless, seriously where do ppl come up with these ideas? like painting anything you can unbolt in your interior a bright ass color... does it realy look good to you??? |

I guess this guy just wants his car to look flush. Like the dudes and their Chevy's that shave off the tail lights and put some leds in between the cracks of the tailgate and rollpan (? is that what they're called, well basically a trunks bumper). I actually saw a sol with their tail lights lightly coated with the green metallic paint. It was alright, but not something I would do, I'd keep to red. Too much work to make t look like the color of your car and not have it too dark. Ack after thinkin of that i like stock, no work involved. |

the cop was an -------, talking about tickets for exhaust that was too loud and it being too low to the ground. (it was neither)
totally clear taillights are illigal even with red bulbs here, thats what all the cops say(plus they look like ---- usually). most cops wont pull you over for them though. but they can, just like not having a front plate, most dont care but it just gives them an excuse to pull you over. |

Listen up fucker, if you want to call people ricers, go to honda-tech not hmt. He had a question about it, if you paint them right they look damn good. Are you calling hmt rice? Because im pretty sure there are many other members of this site that have painted their tail lights. And i think Jeff is one of them.(sorry if im mistaking you for someone else that did it jeff) So are you calling all of us ricers? Go ---- yourself buddy, don't come on here with 30 ------- posts saying how gay something is.

I have myself a pair of 50/50 red/black tails on my del sol. Sent them away to SmokinLights.net and they did an amazing job. What they blacked out is just the amber turn signal top half including the reverse lights, the only prob is my turn sig's are hard to see during the day. Usually, I have to polish them up with a rag before I head out so the dirt and dust doesnt reflect the sun and make it even worse.
Only problem is, it costed $100 :( |

All I'm sayin is that I've seen that ---- done, and uless you've got the skill or the cash for someone that does, it looks like ----. If the result isn't worth the time/money: why? If your that concernd with tail lights then go find a set of 91's... They're smoked. And just cause I don't come on here throwin up 40 smile posts and a bunch of other b.s. doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about. That's a bunch of crap. Next will be the 4 foot tall aluminum wing installation.

i painted my tail lights all red with that stained glass red paint the other weekend... came out pretty trick... that ---- was tough to find though... i looked everywhere... finally came across it at true value... they claimed they just got it in... good deal :o

See what happens then. If you don't like them, or the way they look, that's just your opinion. That's fine. But say it in a more mature manner than , that's gay and a waste of time. Someone in a previous post said that silver tail lights would look "gay" . I agree, i think they would look bad silver. But so far everyone is saying they have painted them red or smoked them out. And if someone does paint them silver, what do you care, its not your car. As in the words of 45psi "to each his own" . Everyone has diferent opinions, it's just that most of us can voice them in a mature manner. You said that most people on this forum care about going fast, not what there tail lights look like. That would be why there is a GENERAL forum and a FORCED INDUCTION forum as well. Even though YOU might not care what your car looks like, other people(most) do care. |

Anyone know where I could get clear tails for a '88 Corolla FX??? I need some clear ones so I can do the all-red thing cuz my orange turn signals are ghey and I think that all red would look ------' baller on any car that ever suffered from orange turn signals.

Actually, I do care about looks to a point. Who doesn't? I went to the trouble to run duals out in front of my back wheels, cause I thought it would look good but it had a performance gain too. But all that, make a mistake, then what? start over, or use em shitty, no thanks. yes, you are right, too each his own, I will agree, and stop at that. See, where I am their are few choice rides, just alteezas', big ass aluminum wings and mufflers you can stick your head in.

It gets taken out every now and then, and i get my liscense back in 14 days, and atleast I have a car, a nice one at that. I don't have to drive around my stepmom's taurus like someone else i know ::)

I think I might try the clear red paint thing. I think its looks real nice although I am a stickler for the stock appearance. I think the painted lights is defin. an improvement. Quit bashing eachother....what a waste of time.
