custom sleeves

Measuring out block dimensions and using a metal lathe would you be able to make your own custom sleeves pretty easily?

I have no idea, but if you did make some home made sleeves that can handle like 1000hp, that would be pretty ------- sweet lol.

the question is, would you really trust yourself enough to try to run that motor?

also you'd have to look into the metal used as far as hardness and density, and the types of treatments they might undergo (ie heat treating, cryo treating)

my brother for his senior project made his own motor. it ran for about 10min (before he ran out of gas) but he made everything for it. crank/cam, everything. Im pretty sure (99.9%) that they cast there own bolck to.

I hope to see it when I go home for christmas.

Im sure sleeving could be done.

Ohh yeah, and it was a V-4.

Re:custom sleeves

considering how stock sleeves are made from aluminum and custom thick sleeves are made from iron it really comes down to the position to witch they sit and I would leave that to the pros but making the right measurements anyone with a little lathe expierence I think could handle. Idk I could be completly wrong but it could be another fun homemadeturboproject

BTW im a llama
