custom intake mani fab in progress! :) pics
so i really HATE the 89-93 B16A/B17A1/B18A1 intake manifold...its homo...so i finally got around to doing something about it... i cut the fucker up ;D
http://home.comcast.net/~turbohf/mani2.JPG just after welding the base plate on, and after some rough grinding. still needs a little work... it will be smooth when its done... http://home.comcast.net/~turbohf/mani1.JPG http://home.comcast.net/~turbohf/mani4.JPG lookin good ;) http://home.comcast.net/~turbohf/throttle2.JPG my 61mm throttle body a little shinny :-\ was a little corroded and rusty. so i hit it with some grinder buffing/scuffing pads... http://home.comcast.net/~turbohf/16vintake.JPG the intake for Aaron/rabbitshit's mani for his 2.0l 16v bunny... more on this later ;) http://home.comcast.net/~turbohf/tigging.JPG Aaron showing off his tigging skills... i cant weld...but i will probly try a hand at it before we finish, so i can say i made it ;) http://home.comcast.net/~turbohf/tig.JPG the machine like i said not finished, still needs...well lots of work but hopefully we can make some progress on it tomarrow so i can get it on before the dyno... |

have you guys seen these throttle bodie spacers with these rounded groves in them? you think yoou could do something like that in each runner?
Get more power out of your engine with Airaid! Throttle Body Spacer, Aluminum, Red Anodized, Chevrolet/GMC, Each The Poweraid TBS concept was developed to enhance mid-range power, torque, and fuel efficiency. The unique dyno-proven "Helix Bore" of the Poweraid throttle body spacers causes a spinning action of the incoming air-charge as it passes through the throttle body. This extremely beneficial air-charge carries all the way into the combustion chamber, producing a super-atomized mixture, which creates tremendous gains in mid-range power and overall efficiency. This is the key element to the horsepower success. https://static.summitracing.com/glob...id-200-512.jpg |
Re:custom intake mani fab in progress! :) pics
that's dumb. the air isn't about to start spinning in the 1 inch that the swirling ---- is going on, it's just going to cause more turbulance and possibly less air speed.

i also here you can get an electric supercharger for $25 that adds 40whp! ::)

Re:custom intake mani fab in progress! :) pics
My buddy put those on his 93 Probe GT. Phenolic spacers or whatever they're called. They were a complete bitch to install, since they were for the intake manifold and throttle body. Saw maybe .4 hp increase on the dyno, but we think that was just because it was a little colder. I wouldn't waste my time/money on them.
