custom exhaust rust
 
any of you guys who make your own custom exhausts have a problem with the welds rusting or any thang like that

most likely from poor welding or treatment of the material being welded

Yea if the welds are done by a gas welder and they are shielded like with a tig or mig, Then the weld isnt as pure, Would rust easier, also it happens man, its metal... But try and keep the welds flush with the area ur welding for best results.

I just ---- the ---- out of the DP before I install it, works like a charm. but yeah make those welds nice and thick. maybe some kinda paint would help?

You wouldnt if you havent MIG welded before, it means that you are using a Gas attachment on the MIG to help sheild during welding. The Gas keeps the puddle from splatering all over and makes a cleaner weld. Also changing the gas properties also help with changing welding properties I beleive. (Im not at all 100% clear on all the gas stuff)

well the way that statement looks to me is alomost like he was talking about using an Oxy-Acetylene welder and a mig welder together and thats what I didnt understand.
