CRX v Integra
Ok so i decided to sell my CRX to free up some cash for my new house but i'm not sure whether to keep my other rex or sell that too and go for an integra, I've never been in a teg and i dont know how they handle? I know that the type r's are like one of the best handling front wheel drive cars in the uk, but i cant afford a type r so it would have to be an import 1.6 and then HMT it
Basically i'm just after some input for those who have had/driven both as the integra is quite rare over here, we only got the type r unless its an import |
Re:CRX v Integra
I've only been in newer integras, (96 GSR's and so on) and I would rather have a CRX any day!! Smaller, lighters, better looking. If your gonna drop the money into buying a integra, drop it intothe crx instead!

Re:CRX v Integra
I have driven them all from the normal LS Integras to the all mighty Type R beast ;D
The type r is the ultimate for handaling, and the motor is good as well, but nothing beets a GSR the motor is boost friendly, the handaling is all most the same except the braking part is a bit dif, cause the type r is a 5 bolt, biger rotars, and the gsr there 4 bolt a bit smaller, but bigger then the sir... If I were you just import an LS or a GSR them both are good, the LS wasent realy made for the track so don't expect much cause it's the lowest model ever for integra and cheep as well, but the motor is low compresion so when it comes to boosting that biach! It's a beast! so yeah.... Here is some pics, chose which one you like!... hehe 1996 Acura Integra LS/GS/RS http://www.upstatemotors.com/kruzinauto/dsc00338.jpg 1996 Acura Integra GSR - vtec f00l! ;) http://pics.spoon.org/Cars/ASCC-Solo...1/DSCN3187.JPG and last but not least! the bad ass! 1999 Acura Integra TYPER http://www.japancars.agava.ru/photos...gra_type_r.jpg |
Re:CRX v Integra
B18B_CIVIC....He's talking about imported JDM integra's.
In the UK they drive RHD cars...get a SiR I've seena few on the net with B18C engines like the GSR engines |
Re:CRX v Integra
They feel very similar to me. I drove my friend Bill's old Integra (91), same engine as me and everything.. Handling felt a little stiffer than my CRX, but mostly felt the same. Both are good cars, GL with whatever you do.

Re:CRX v Integra
I own a 90 Integra RS which is the real low budget power nothing and i'm doing fine in it,i took out to the streetraces and won twice the handling on it is nice and the ride is smooth i don't have any complaints.

Re:CRX v Integra
the power steering is nice but if your are track racer it doesn't really help you to get the corners in as smoothly or if you are on the drag strip.

Re:CRX v Integra
But for good lord my punani doesn't need to move when making u turn in the middle traffix ;)

Re:CRX v Integra
most people just rip out the "oh so lovely" power steering
i like to feel the road :P |
Re:CRX v Integra
i don't have power steering in my teggy but i'm thinking about putting it back in cus of the rack n pinion i don't want to blew steering.

Re:CRX v Integra
Just might add my .02 since i have owned most 4th gen civic (CRX, hatch, Sedan...ALL had B series swap)
and i have owned 87 teg, 92 teg, 94 gsr & 96 LS tegs... i have driven the ITR multiple times but never bought/owned one. ------------------------ The CRX is a fun car, it's far from heavy, it's responsive, and it has alot of potential, But it's the type of car i wouldn't own by itself, I will have to have another car for everyday praticality. I cant stand not being able to do things with the limited space. Only thing i use to luv about my REX was when i was parking in NYC manhattan, it was small and can fit in tight spots. ------------------------ The integras (even the G2 tegs) are my favorite of both, they are heavier but not heavy enough to hinder performance, i have seen (and done myself) integra all motor VTEC smoke CRX's with B16A swaps. Tegs will always be teg, the bigger brother to the civic, and it's alot more practical, Handling is better in my book, i have autocross both my teg and CRX, and i have pulled faster times with my G2 LS/VTEC teg than my CRX with SIR swap, yet my CRX was faster on the 1/4 mile. the only car i can say is a cross between both cars in terms of weight, yet still has equal power potential are the civic coupes (whole new story) --------------------------------------- I luv the REX, but i can't just own a REX alone, maybe in High school/college days. The integra is a great car and if you know you need space, look further than the REX. |
Re:CRX v Integra
I think the way things are at the minute i might go for a teg just for the experience, we suffer with rust a lot over here and finding a CRX that doesnt need work on it is difficult and at the minute i dont have the time to be patching one up. Does this mean i have to go uberdata for the turbo ? Or can i throw in one of my OBDO DOHC ZC engines?

Re:CRX v Integra
i had a 90 integra with a b16 in it and i lvoed the way it drove/handled.. and now i have a 88 crx hf... with a b16 it is faster but i really don't htink it handles as good becuaes it is way too light... and drifts out on me alot... but if u just want a clean car id get a newere gsr or sumthing... but if u want a fsat car dump like 1 g tops in to a crx shell and build the fucker and have a fst ass car and u can make it handle too if u wanna spend the money cause think of it if u spend a g on a shell 2500 on a swap then like say 2 g's more on whatever that is still about the same price as say a later 90s intera would cost and u have a faster/better handling car....
but it's up to u ... |
Re:CRX v Integra
You'll have to go uberdata, why would you go from OBD1 to OBD0?? OBD1 is so much better.
And a ZC engine in a new teg?? the B-series will walk all over it man. And the ZC would need major work to fit...big no no. |
Re:CRX v Integra
I guess my loyalties lie with turbo edit i suppose.
Why is OBD1 so much better? the reason for the ZC in the teg is cos i got a few lying around and i'm going to have to go ghetto on it cos i cant afford to be buying a B16 |
Re:CRX v Integra
The teg comes with a B18C
So why go to a ZC? |
Re:CRX v Integra
not all tegs come with a b18c, there are 1.6's as well arent there? then the si and the type r . . .
my point is i was gonna get the 1.6 teg and swap the engine with one of my zc's |
