Hey guys i think i'm getting a starter bike its a Kawasaki 500cc bike and i'm just wondering how much insurance is going to be... i'm 18 with no tickets, my history is clean..... any guesses? $200 a month????

You don't have to have insurance.. unless its financed.

umm bullshit. it is federal law to have insureance on anything that drives on the road.

I think he meant to say full coverage. I can't see liability being $200+ a month.

Anyways, there are about 4,978,562 online insurance companies that offer free quotes 24 hours a day. I know it's hard to believe, but I'm serious. They only hire robots that stand by the computer all day long and calculate insurance quotes. It's amazing.

it really depends on the company you use, i've had state farm for five years now, and because i already insure my truck through them my bike payments are only 32 dollars a month, and that's full coverage on a '04 kawasaki zx6r.

by the way, never use progressive, they'll try to charge you like 250 a month or more.

i called to get a quote on liability on a gsxr 1000
they said like
23 dollars a month.

its cheep because they figure if you wreck your going to be dead and there not going to have to pay for anything

being 18, if you are buying a new bike you can expect the insurance payment to be more then the bike payment. sad but true

I called just a few days ago about a CBR 954 and they told me an extra $16 a month to add to what I already have. I am 22, nothing on my record. I was like $16 are you sure. I have no experience, nothing, and the lady was like yeah, thats what the computer is telling me.

she said the less body work thats on it, the less the insurance. (a goldwing is gonna be more than a croth-rocket, because its full of body work)

so I asked my father-in-law about it and he said, yeah, unless you have a bike with alot of body work, your insurance wont be anything. interesting.

in Washington state, its not a requirement for insurance. i've been pulled over so many times.

Yea some states dont require it, i just scan my parents in and modify it so i have proof on my car... works on judges too ;D

I rock a 93 GSXR 750 and I paid $350 for the year!! I'm 26 and have a ton of tickets, so that kinda makes me 18 with no tickets, right? I got mine here: www.motorcycleinsurance.com Its an awesome company.

Hell. I'm 18 and have been to court twice for speeding/recless driving. The insurance on my CRX is still only 316 a year. I should hope you can get insurance on a bike a whole lot cheeper then that. Also if you only get liablity more times then not a multiple car accident involving a bike is going to be the other persons fault so the company dosnt pay anything anyways.
