Yeah, it's still pretty fast for what it is, but for the money, maybe not. 
I'm surprised there haven't been any "With $45k I could build a Honda....." posts yet.

with 45k i could build a super pro dragster that runs 4's in the 8th.
i dont like the crossfire. or many dodges. but i like there older trucks 85 ish. and the magnum looks alright. its like the most non gay station wagon ive ever seen.

it might share the frame... the motor uses a AMG supercharger, but as far as i know its not a amg built engine or a benz engine.
the motor makes somethin like 330hp / 300ft-lbs.

Not exactly the same, but you could see the similarities. I think this Crossfire is utilizing the C32 engine, being that you say the car has some 330 hp, and the c32 has some 34x hp?
Or maybe it's using the AMG SLK engine.
Look at the major similarities of the C32/SLK32 engine and the crossfire engine, they are the same
