Credit Card Suggestions?

Since HMT is where I go now for car/drinking/girl (in that order) advice, I figured I'd throw out a question about credit cards.

I have a card now that I've been using a little bit and paying off each month for about a year. So far the bank hasn't made a dime off me (hope to keep it that way). I've been reading FAQ's about credit and how to get a good score. Apparently you need a mix of types of credit (cards, loan, etc), keep your balance below 35% of your available credit, stuff like that.

Now that I have some established credit, I was wondering if any of you guys have any credit cards that you really like (for whatever reason)... cashback, rewards, low APR, whatever.

BTW, anyone with completely fucked up credit is welcome to share on what not to do.

My card through my credit union offers some sort of rewards points deal for purchases and like 2 months out of the year it offers double points for that month. I just made sure I bought most of my car ---- during those 2 months and now I got enough reward points to get some cool ---- and not the cheap ass stuff they offer on the first few levels. I am up to like a full day of white water rafting and other stuff. Of course its mostly useless ---- that you would never need but you never know. they 2 foot fondu fountain might be handy one day.....

Credit cards are the work of the devil. There are better ways to build your credit.

I have a couple cards, but the main one I use is a Citibank Dividend card. It gives 1% cash back on everything you buy, and I think 2% at gas stations and grocery stores. It may not seem like much, but over the past 4 or so years I've had it I've gotten reward checks totalling about $4-500, and they haven't made a dime off me either 8)

credit cards are great. iv had one since i was 16. i cant stand going in the gass statsion to pay for gass, and it is more convienent then cash. iv always paid it off never left a balance, and it has help to build my credit. it was the only reason i could get a decent loan for my truck. if you are planing on buying ---- and paying it off in a couple of months, you should not use one.

now i use mbna visa, wich gives me nothing but has a good rate, not that that maters allway pay it off
i also am looking in to a shell card. they offer gass rebate, wich is good being i only get 12mpg when im lucky.
i hear capital one is good as long as you pay you bill off. iv heard there penalties add up real quick, but have good rewards.

the only good thing about cc's are that its a decent way to build credit, examples on what not to do, dont be like my friend, meets these skany girls moves in and then spends all kinds of money, 4 months later and about 9k in debt, and trying to sell the pointless ---- hes bought.

I have a card through my Credit Union. I get "points" when I use it, and the points really add up. I always pay it off every month. Between that and my school loans, I have pretty good credit.
