Craigslist wins again.

Yay got some new stuff to work on. Got 2 go-kart frames and an engine that might run for $20

Here's the "offroading cart"
Plans:
motorcycle engine (200cc-500cc) with 5 speed trans
Articulated rear-section for some suspension
bigger wheels/tires
full rollover protection
new floor pan, seat, restraints

I forgot to take pics of the other cart but plans for it:
Engine: dunno, something cheap. The guy that sold me the frames gave me an engine that looks to be in decent shape, just needs a pull-start assembly
wheels/tires
new rear axle

That's a badass frame with the face bar. I'd let all my enemies drive that one first. :y

I'm gonna put some sort of restraint system in there off-road cart for sure. Now i gotta sell some ---- and scrape together some $$ for a nice engine and wheels and ----.

Started sanding the rust last night. This thing is gonna take a while.

good score! I'd remove some of that piping, leave the main hoop and the sides though.

I've wanted a go kart/mini bike since I was 12 but since I have no place to use one off road I've thought about building a go kart/mini bike w/a small motorcycle engine thats as quiet as possible so i can rip around the neigboorhood @ night.

polaris 600 triple motor and snowmobile clutch + go-kart = death on wheels. lol

I like the 5 speed motor cycle idea, but if it starts getting complicated, consider a snowmobile belt style clutch. That'd be pretty easy to rig up on a go-cart

all polaris PVT clutches are the same, they use them on the ATVs also, and with the atv gearbox you have a gear link for a chain and low, high and reverse. ALso, if you felt really froggy, you could build an awd gocart if you had a donor sportsman 500 :)

LOL @ AWD go-kart. That would be a wee-bit involved.

Think *hope* I got a motor lined up. Warrior 350 (6 speed w/reverse?) with carb and electronics :)

not as involved as you'd think, you could probably just splice the front and rear end off the atv and find some shorter coil overs off some other atv and angle the shock towers back, cut one drive shaft in half and leingthen it to reach the front diff. and shorten the rear so the engine can sit behind you.

then youd have all wheel disk brakes and ---- too O0

If someone leaves a 4wd 4-wheeler on my doorstep I'll think about it ;)

Yesterday I hooked up a cordless drill to the free-motor and got it to fire over. Scared the piss out of me because it wasnt bolted to anything LOL. The pull-start mechanism wasnt on the motor. Wonder if I could weld a gear on there and use an old honda starter for an electric start? HMMMM. OOH I think I've got just the gear for the job too! KICK-ASS. I'd just have to run a small lawnmower battery or something for powering it up.. TITS!

So for now that little motor is going on the "street cart". Worked a bit on the street cart last night and got it disassembled, got most of the rust ground down so it'll be ready for paint sometime this week/weekend, but not until I remove or straighten the bent axle shaft.

Havent heard from the guy with the 350 motor and trans but im pretty sure that deal is still a go.

lol dude, when i bought the 6hp motor for my go kart, it didnt have gas or oil in it and they didnt know if it ran for sure etc...

it was sitting on the ground and i pulled the starter rope just to spin the motor around and the fucker started lol. i revved it up once and it about jumped off the ground. it was funny
