CRACKED HEAD/ HEAD GASKET??????!

SO I was wondering what the hell was up with my car so I had it towed to a performance shop. They told me that I either had a cracked head, or need a new head gasket. I was wondering if anyone knows a could let me know how much either of these normally costs to repair. I have a 1995 Acura Integra LS. My car has been off of the road since January. This SUCKS! >:(

No matter what a shop will rape you analy for any kind of repair. I would guess for a new head gasket, they would charge around $350. If it needs a new head(which they will tell you) it will be around $1500. I hate shops. My car has never seen one. Buy a Haynes and do it yourself. Get a buddy to help you. You can post your problems here if you need help.

I agree. Do it yourself. It'll benefit you in the long run.

Don't get the Haynes, get the Factory Service Manual. Yes, I know it's like $75, but it's worth every cent. Check Ebay for them.

I thought Haynes was good ----. I know Chiltons is complete crap. That is the dumbest book in the world. I would be better off without a ------- Chilton.
