My buddy was just telling me that someone on here was selling that on here. Suppose to be a tunertoys/vitara equivalent. If you know what im talking about can you please shoot me a name or thread. Thanks!

Here is a quick brain dump on what I know about this...

So Y.C.P. stands for something similar to Yong Chang Pistons. They are a standard Chinese piston manufacturer. This is the brand of pistons that FJT sells, who is the widely accepted leader in Vitara pistons sales for HT, DSeries, and HMT. I am not sure whether or not they sell rods. If they do, it's a new development in the last two years. FJT's Vitara pistons are a little better quality than the replacement pistons you can get at your local import house. This is due to the fact that YCP applies a coating to the pistons, and it is rumored that they even use a little better material. They are a regular cast piston, with a coating, intended for a Suziki Vitara (or any Suzuki with G16 engine block). They also use floating pins, instead of pressed pins. Since the factory rods are the press type, you'll need to use other rods with Vitara pistons. A lot of guys use our H-Beam rods with the Vitaras, with good result. There are even a couple hitting the 400WHP mark. Our "TT" rods are an economical alternative to Eagles or Scats, and make for a great low compression budget build, when used with Vitaras. You should be able to put together a piston and rod set for under $400 plus shipping and machining.

I've run TT H22 rods to 332 wtq and 375 whp on a stock fuel pump, leaning to 13.3:1 AFRs and lifting at 7000 rpms in the process, and then cranked the boost another five psi on top of that once the pump was replaced. 332 wtq is enough to hit 500 whp if the pump hadn't faltered, we rev the engine to 8500, I dunno, call it ~501 whp? :P It's not D-series, but Craig carries some fine rods. Based on my experience with them I'd trust D-series units in a heartbeat.

FYI, little tech blurb after the testimonial, I have *zero* problem with running a cast piston in a turbocharged engine, but be aware that aluminum gets really weak at combustion chamber temperatures. Cast doesn't have the grain flow of a forging to lend it's ring lands strength, so tunes should always be rich (11.5:1) and ignition timing conservative and you make your power by turning up the boost some more. I'm also a big fan of water injection, as it directly cools the surfaces of the combustion chamber, which can effectively strengthen a cast piston to take detonation past what a non-water injected forged piston setup can handle.
