So little while ago I got a citation for unsafe passing bullshit basically. I pleaded not guilty, and court is tomorrow. I'm hoping the cop won't show.

This is my first violation/ticket of anykind. Anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do or expect?

since its your first offense, try the i've never had a ticket before, how about driving improvement class or something like that. its 6 hours of BS but they will drop your ticket usually

Yeah ask for traffic school. I've been 2 or 3 times. Keeps it off your record and it's the same price as the ticket here. Ours are like 4 hours long, but they always cut out like 1+hr short.

you shoulda got an extention, cops schedule their ----. mix it up a little.

This was out of state by the way. I live in VT and got the ticket in NY.

Some times you can be better of pleading guilty depending on the situation.
My brother overtook hes mate in a 50km/ph zone and got clocked at 120km , he ran but wrote of the car in the process.
He pleaded guilty and was charged with dangerous driving instead of wreckless driving.
Dangerous - 6 months suspended licence
Wreckless - 1 year no licence
It was also hes first offence so you should be ok..

Just talk to the attorney for the state/county etc and ask him what the options are.

Look to plead guilty to a lesser charge, get a continuation (no tickets for 6months = pff the hook), or something like that.

You should be fine my gf just went to court for a unsafe passing ticket and ended up with 2 parking tickets $100 and it was in ny as well.
