I'm surprised they haven't tried to force a name change.
I'm sure it was originally named after a member of the "Nig" family, or perhaps just a guy named "Nig," but people like to complain regardless. If I named my child Holocaust, I doubt he could open "Holocaust's Grill" without some problems.

Nig's fits well in Wisconsin Dells, the town that emancipation forgot.
