counter strike is not a casual gaming experience, is it?
 

i have been wanting to get into some kind of online co op game for a little while, but i have no idea if i would like this game or if im even dedicated enough to have any fun.

im getting a network card for my ps2 pretty soon and i want to try MGS subsistance because it looks kinda fun.

i guess what i really want to know is, if i only have a couple hours a week to play video games, is it even worth my time to get online?

im a sucker for socom II online and diablo 1 and 2 (LOD) online... it gets addicting

Your average CS player will hand you your ass as a beginner. Most people get discouraged with the 0-40 score and not knowing the maps very well. D2 is a good casual game to play or if you like MMORPG's try Dark Age of Camelot. Shooters, try UT2005 or something along that line. Consoles absolutely suck for online shooters.

yeah, i know ill have some issues with cs right away, but im sure after some time i would be fairly average. i just don't know how much time that is.

im tellin ya, try socom II online first and get the hang of it, its pretty easy, and you can have games with other players with only a certain ranking

Learning maps is key. Its a fun game that I still play on occasion. I have no time to game anymore but when I find time its CS:Source or COD.

Just d/l steam, then you can d/l the games through that. You can just pay online with a credit card.

I'm addicted to CS:CZ, Diablo II LOD and Halo 2

If anybody wants to play on any of those, lemme know ;)

for teh win. CS Source is fun as hell. hell ill still sit down and play 1.6 on occasion. I think sound is the most important part of the game, especially when there is some noob running around and you hear him coming a mile away ;D

I used to play CS 1.5 and 1.6 casually with a friend who is a serious clan player. The game has been around for the better part of a decade, so there are people with INSANE skills. People memorize the maps and all strategies, the weapons physics, best places to aim, player movement physics, and more. I don't recommend you pay to play it just for a short time. Unless you're the kind of gamer that never gets too serious about it and won't get pissed off, it's just not worth it. Chances are, unless you are naturally good at online FPS games, you will get owned repeatedly.

theres wolfenstien enemy territory and americas army which are both free. I'd try one of those to make sure you don't mind getting your ass kicked at first and get discouraged. I haven't tried it but Americas army is supposed to be very good

cs is a terrible mod for half life. but the most popular ironically.

too many nerds on cs:source they play too much and never lose. i dont play those kind of servers cuz the game just isnt fun at that point

i play halo 2 occasionally, when i have time. no matter how much you hate matchmaking on xbl it can still be fun if you have a couple friends and get on it.

is it worth your time? pffft. im not sure about the ps2 online ----, but when i played counter-strike on my computer, i was addicted, even with my old 56k setup

i would stay up till 4 in the morning playing it, wake up go to school, come home and hop on the computer allllllll night and morning.

i lost a girlfriend because of that game, i didnt wanna go to any parties or hang out with my friends when i was playing it

You must be my roomate from freshman year in college. His GF would come down in a tight top and black miniskirt and BEG him to go back to her room. He would push her away and scream "Dammit, you just ruined my kill streaK!" She was this hot little blondie, 5'6" or so, blue eyes.... man, when she came down like that I was itching to tap her if he didnt wanna do it.

Back to topic ;D There are people out there with phenominal kills. My roomate was soo good he never used his gun, In the game or in his Gf's bed ;D

He got so good at the game he finally quit playing because killing was too easy, even with a knife. He got banned several times from clans and servers because he was accused of cheating, but he was just that good. I played for a week or so and then got fed up and quit.

yea its fun as hell, i started off playing with bots. pretty lame but i got used to the regular levels and the regular howoto kinda ----. good hiding spots and yada yada. there was a huge problem with cheaters back when i used to play. they were completly open about it somtimes, and other would deny. wallhack and auto headshot sucks. they can see you and kill you in seconds. the cheaters is what made me quit playing. got too fed up with about to run around a corner and be shot in the head threw the wall.

other than this ----, cs is ------ awsome

I've never played any of these games. :l I feel so left out.....
