cost of seafood from mississippi?
my moms step brother was down there last month and he was walking on the docks when he saw a ship selling fish and shrimp.. fish for cheap as ---- like .75 cents a pound or some ---- and shrimp for like 2.75 a pound
so he bought 150 pounds of fish/shrimp and came back here.. he sold the shrimp for 6 bucks a pounds (and the stores were reselling for 8 bucks a pound i guess?) and sold the fish for 3 bucks a pound but he had trouble selling the fish.. and had no trouble selling the shrimp. he went back the other day and came back with 300 pounds of shrimp.. at 3 bucks a pound.. and resold it for 6 bucks a pound.. i dont know where exactly he goes.. or who his contact is.. but i just laughed my ass off because i thought he was joking till i saw the trunk of his car.. the ---- he bought is fresh as ---- cause he kept it in a cooler with just ice over it.. and its still good.. hes going back one more time before the season is over.. and apparently hes going to try 600 pounds of shrimp next time but yeah just figured id tell hmt.. and if anyone from Mississippi can chime in and vouch for boat side specials on seafood |

Re: cost of seafood from mississippi?
My dad was a shrimper for 27 years. Got out of it about 5 years ago when diesel was skyrocketing. When he sold the boat it was 1.04 a gallon. It's almost impossible to make a living shrimping these days. Cost 300-500 a day to run the boat. You have to pedal all your catch to stand a chance at making a profit. What boat did the guy buy from? Probably somebody I know. ;D
