i had a straight up detective vest at my house not patrol officer but detective and it was on ment to withstand 9, 22 and a 357 from somewhat of a distance. so if you have a a 45 hand gun they are hit.

The caliber has little to nothing to do with the penetration power. Saying a .45 will punch through more easily than a .22 is just stupid.

Wanna bet a case of beer than if we wear the same vest, you shoot me with a .45 handgun, and I shoot you with a .22 AP round from an AR-15, that I will be left behind wondering who's gonna get me that case of beer....

It's usually found in rifles not unlike the AK.

um no.....
Your normal everyday concealable patrol vest is not made to stop rifle rounds. We are not talking raid or SWAT vest.

Here is a copy of the National Institute of Justices "threat levels" which is the standard for rating bodyarmor:

that is really too bad that happened. My father was a cop and i don't know what i would have done if he would have been killed on duty....

however, it is justifiable to shoot the suspect as soon as he grabs his weapon, there never should of been yelling of "put the gun down" because a bullet to the chest would have taken care of that...maybe several bullets
