no it doesn't, that is a d16a1.... i dare you to make it fit into a crx... i've read before of all the differences, but since i have been crxless for over a couple years i forget everything, i do know the mounts won't work

same ----. im sure you could fit it into a crx. probably just by changing the mount bracket on the driver side. but i dunno. never seen one of those d16a1's out of the car :-\

i mean an 88-91 crx, a d16a1 will not fit into an 88-91 crx, and yeah i know the d16a1 fits into a first gen crx

Re: Confused on ZC motors...

and zc's only come in japan, dohc zc from 89 quint integras in japan. here in the US of A idge they only came as d16a1.... and no they will not bolt up to a second gen crx, the dohc zc that fit second gen crx's are the second generation zc, the way you can tell is the first gen zc have the bolts on the inside of the valve cover, and the second gen zc dohc's have the valve cover bolts on the outside. also the driver side mount is different and sticks out of the timing belt cover, where as the first gens the mount is on the front of the engine.

as soon as rpr is up i will post the pics. but the 89s had higher compression and electronic advance obd0

Re: Confused on ZC motors...

Finding the parts for the DOHC ZC is not hard at all. YOu just have to find the list on www.thezcr.com.

I the jist of things, Almost everything from the a6 will fit. The is a few different parts though. Gaskets usually come from the d16a1(88-89 integra(THIS WAS NOT A ZC! and will not fit 2nd Gen CRXS/4g Civics)) and timing belt from a DOHC 88 Prelude.

I have NEVER been able to not find a part for my DOHC.

Re: Confused on ZC motors...

zc's are great engines.

SOHC non-vtec
DOHC non-vtec
SOHC vtec

those are the three kinds

The dual cam d series that came in the 1st gen tegs are D16A1 and are not a direct bolt on for 2nd/4th gen+ they are not ZC's. The ZCs that replace them are typically referred to as the brown tops, cause well most of them had brown valve covers.

So there it is. ZC's are cheap, if you want a cheap replacement you migjht wanna look into the jdm D15B vtec, those are also cheap.
