computer wont recognize printer
 
WTF ever since I reinstalled windows xp, my comp wont recognize that the printer is attached (usb) I plug my ipod in and duh-dink it pops up, but I plug the printer in and no duh -dink noise and nothing. I tried doing add new hardware, and I tried doing add printer froom the print manager screen. ???? wtf help thanks

printer make and model then go the printer make website and download drivers

post up make and model and i will get you exact link..

Like the other guy said try downloading the drivers, or you can just use the disc that came withe th printer if you still have it. A few other things to check/try:

1) check device manage and make sure all your usb ports are working properly.
2) test the printer's cable.
3) make sure the printer is on.
4) restart windows while the printer is on and connected.
5) try a different usb port.

did you plug in your printer before you installed the software? that is a no no with some printers

yup.. had to do that with my computer and a friends. just do a google/yahoo search of the model of your printer and you'll be able to find it from there.
