I'd recommend deleting all your temp. files and cookies..

then try searching for your computer for spyware...via Ad Aware, Spybot: Search and Destroy, etc.

Its pretty hard to diagnose a problem when the problem is something like that. What you explained could be 1000000 different things. I'd say try to find a friend that you know that is good with computers and have him take a look at it. I know from being top of all my diagnostic hardware and software classes and about 9 years experience, that diagnostics can be a bitch if youre not in front of the computer.

When you click on something and it freezes, does it literally freeze? If so, how long, and does it go away or do you have to restart? When did it start? I'm gonna assume you dont know how to manually check critical files and registry settings, so do you have a good virus scanner (and now adays a couple different adware scanners?).
Also it could be hardware related, but more than likely software ... Have you tried using another browser?

try firefox, opera, netscape, etc... see if it still does it. Its just like care diagnostics .. just gotta swap and play.. swap and play.. swap and play .. until you finally figure it out. :-p

yeah it just freezes the window that i used to click on the link, i can still use another window fine. and it freezes for basicly a minute exactly. it just started to happen today... i have ran ad-aware and i'll run my virus scan before i go to bed, but i dont think its a virus. i'll probly just have my moms boyfriend look at it for me, he's a computer guy. i'm not smart when it comes to computers so i would rather not mess around with anything.

thanks for all the help guys :)

i had that problem once.. it was pretty hardcore spyware.. when it freezes, its sending usage statistics. i tried a ---- load of things to get rid of it, but ended up just format/reinstalling my windowsxp

thank god i have 3 harddrives, and my small 6gb is for windows - all the pr0n and gamez go onto the other ones O0
