compression tester stuck in head
like the title says, this is so stupid. The hose just keeps twisting and twisting. I tried starting it on 3 cylinders hoping it would heat the head enough to expand the spark plug hole and let it go, didn't work. What should I do? :1

Re: compression tester stuck in head

Re: compression tester stuck in head
haha, I love these threads. Bambooseven did the same exact thing and was gonna tear the whole motor apart. lol. He ended up getting it out somehow. :D

Re: compression tester stuck in head
They should make a tester with a solid hose. Would make a lot of sense for motors with the plugs sunk into the head.

Re: compression tester stuck in head
i'm glad we've all done it before, who knows how to get it out?

Get one of these for next time. I've got one on order from my dealer. As far as getting yours out, did you try filling the hole with some PB blaster or something? It may help. |
Re: compression tester stuck in head
so the hose is still attached right....pull until the bitch breaks, then take a thin wall 19mm (i think) and get the tester out. you might have to grind down the outside of the socket. i did a similar thing: left the extension on the end of the tester, which got stuck down there

Re: compression tester stuck in head
Just a thought, Try one of those gator grip sockets. If not, use a long nose pliers and pull off as much rubber hose as you can, then use a socket that is tight fitting onto the tester then tap it on the tester with a hammer. It should bite into the fitting and you can unscrew it. :6

Re: compression tester stuck in head
cut the hose and use a socket ... only way .. or take the head off and use fise grips on the thread in the combustion chamber... lol
|
Re: compression tester stuck in head
i did the same thing, because i didnt tighten the two ends together on it and it was tighter in the head than on the hose, got it out with a long long pair of needle nose pliers.

Re: compression tester stuck in head
Id whack the hose off and then use needlenose visegrip pliers.
As far as im concerned needlenose visegrips, could darn near assemble a entire car......lol Once you get the hose out of the way the visegrips can crunch down on it and should grip enough to twist it out. Gotta use real visegrip brand tho... Ive found all the others are junk. Steve :) |
