Re:compression test gone wrong
we just had this happen last weekend.
we just put the hose back together and it came out. it took a few times, but just rethread it and then unthread it. if not, you might up ---- creek without a paddle. |
Re:compression test gone wrong
is the plug still stuck on it? i just plugged the plug with something and crankled the car a couple of times. it shot out.

Re:compression test gone wrong
threadlocker a spark plug back in it and let it dry then back her out tommorow. ;)
|
Re:compression test gone wrong
another bad thing to do....
don't pull the fuel pump relay or the coil wire, it may take awhile if the plug wires are hanging down the block a ways but believe me there will be fire. Note to self, drink coffee before advising friend how to do compression test. |

Re:compression test gone wrong
don't do it that way, it got all fucked up when I tried that, JD weld got all over the place, it was a mess. Go to your hardware store and buy an easy out (reverse drill bit). thread the easyout in there really easily and back it out. Don't try to torque it too hard and definitely do not use any sort of power tools, the easy out will break. Mine came out relatively easily. Good luck.

Re:compression test gone wrong
I remember the first time I did a compression test and almost got the tester stuck. Had the hose coiled like a pasta noodle before it finally broke free. Since then I always lube it up and don't go in very tight :P

Re:compression test gone wrong
i got a big ass screw driver and it fit into it and i turned it.

Re:compression test gone wrong
I used VERY long needle nose plyers and turned that fucker back out, But I didn't put the spark plug back in and tighten it

Thanks guys there is a pic of the plug JB welded to the adaptor |
Re:compression test gone wrong
you're supposed to tighten the adapter on to the tester nice and tight before you thread it in the hole ::)
|
Re:compression test gone wrong
yah i know, i wasent paying attention i didnt know it was on there
|
Re:compression test gone wrong
i did the same thing the first compression test i did.
i bought a cheepo socket then threw it on the grinder. once it fit in the spark plug socket it was just a matter loosening it up then using needle nose to get it out. i think it was the same size as the spark plug in mm. no mess btw... ;D |
Re:compression test gone wrong
dude, not to be a dick but your an idiot! you see where the fitting is hex shaped on top. you're suppose to use the same socket you use to get the spark plug out!! it goes right on top of the fitting just like the spark plug. i do like the way you got it out though but all u needed to do was stick the socket for the spark plugs in there and loosen it..... it happened to me once but then it clicked... hope this helps...
|
Re:compression test gone wrong
trust me i was trying all types of differnt sockets! i just couldent seem to grip it :(
|
Re:compression test gone wrong
the adapter itself is prob.ly too short to be "gripped" by a spark plug socket.
