Re: coilovers what to buy

go with springs and a good set of shocks
i had coilovers and the ride sucked- the travel on the springs is shorter so it's def gonna be more harsh than with a good set of springs and shocks

I have this setup (except Skunk2's - basically the same as Ground Controls) on my 89 hatch. It is a little rough ride but it handles great.

I'm pretty sure omni makes full-bodied coilovers. I don't think they have adjustable damping, but from what I've read, people seem to like them. If you just want to slam your car, then ebays or whatever will be fine. I'm ashamed to say it, but I've been riding on some bootleg sleeves for the last 2 years and they're pretty nice to daily drive on, not too bouncy. However, I kinda stepped up to H&Rs (full bodied coilovers w/out adjustable damping) and the ride is eons ahead of that bootleg crap... wish the rear ones weren't seized and fucked up :(. The best deal/dollar seems to be the GC / Koni Yellow setup.

Omni makes some sleeves too i believe. I have the full bodied coilover set up now, it is a very nice set-up and is probably the best investment i have made so far on my car. They dont go as low as I would wish without losing some pre-load, but they still are very nice...

Thats because they're the best combination to use in the suspension world. Especially Autocross and Circuit Racing.

I would argue against that.. I REALLY like tien's stuff.. very impressive ride on all the products they sell.. I dont trust those damn buillet screws really on those GC coilovers.

Skunk 2 with KYB AGX's can't complain here.

I had some ground controls before the omni's, guess i didnt tighten that screw enough, i hit a large bump and heard a loud thud, and whattya know my front drivers side was lowered about 2 extra inches... haha
