clutch specialties vs. spec clutch kit
there both the same price, they both hold about the same torque, people seem to love the clutch specialties on here but the spec LOOKS to be a little more well built but thats just looks and i've only installed one clutch myself. just looks like it has more springs. im lookin at stage 2 kits for my 96 civic aiming for 200hp and i want somthing that engages smooth because its my daily drivin car..
any opnions beside "get it from mike hes the man" there both stage 2 pictured CS kit http://www.lsdmotorsports.com/images...et_new_big.jpg SPEC kit http://www.clutchcityonline.com/pict...pec/stage2.gif |

Steven, My buddy had a Spec Clutch in his Camaro (stage 3), and the pp camed warped, took forever to contact spec and get a replacement, caused a big headache. |
Re: clutch specialties vs. spec clutch kit
two hundred isnt that bad. ive had a stage two exedy clutch, pp, and flywheel for a little while and its holding up great. i drive anywhere from 100 - 150 miles stop and go a day, its works good. and cheep, i think i picked it up on ebay for like $200. good deal.

Re: clutch specialties vs. spec clutch kit
i run mikes extremo clutch and so far its taking 390whp well.

Re: clutch specialties vs. spec clutch kit
Todd Stough had a Spec clutch a couple years back, for his GSR. "Stage 3" came with a stock Honduh PP sprayed blue and generica unsprung 6 puck. It held up well, but he wasn't pushing past 260-275 whp estimated.

Re: clutch specialties vs. spec clutch kit
i like CS from mike. i got two actually.

Re: clutch specialties vs. spec clutch kit
sounds repeditive, but get one from mike. i have the 6 puck sprung and i can drive it everyday with no problems.

Re: clutch specialties vs. spec clutch kit
I'm a Spec Clutch dealer and I wont sell their product anymore at any margin. Massive horror stories of clutches breaking and Spec telling wholesale dealers they'll have to eat it if the customer wants it warrantied. They've sent two of my customers the wrong clutches, they sent a drop ship customer my wholesale invoice and lied to me about it. Shitty phone skills, shitty customer service, shitty product all around.

Sorry, couldn't help myself. ACT 6-puck would work great. |
Re: clutch specialties vs. spec clutch kit
ACT 6-puck is equal to LSD 6 puck.
