Clutch slipping w/ only 25k miles?!?!?! whatdafuck?

so i'm driving along on my way to school this morning and i hop on the parkway in fourth. I downshift to third and let the clutch out-then when i step on the gas to get into the groove of traffic the car just revs up to like 6k and doesn't move so i keep giving it gas and it grabbed.... how the ---- is this possible?? Obviously it's a fucked up clutch but this is my sisters 2003 rsx a 100% stock car with no nonsense on it, this thing isn't one of my cars that i abuse. Allthough i abuse it...it hasn't even gotten half of what i do to my cars... :P
So i called the dealer before anything to see if this would be under warranty and they said it's wear and tear and "on that particular car it's around 1600 to change the clutch"-------- crook. If any one in NY wants to change the clutch or help me i'll toss them a couple hundred.... lets first see if my sister did this or not though.....

Hehe, yayo messed that RSX up and had a bodyshop repair the damages before his sister got back from wherever she was. Lol that still makes me laugh today.

shhhh the paint didn't match for ---- and still no one knows except my friend that drove me to get the bumpers :P
The worst thing about that was that a couple weeks after she parked the car in brooklyn and some one back into the bumper and fucked that ---- up so it got painted over anyway....i could of just bought the bumper and left that ---- black if i knew that was going to happen....

i live on long island...but i drive into the city a lot and so does she so thats probably what happened to it...

Haha :-X True City driving does eat up a clutch but 25k miles seems a little too low for me to be comfortable with saying it's just the city driving... I'd see if Acura will warrantee it at least. It might not be considered general maintenence since theres that low milage. Worth a shot :)

i called them this morning on the way home from school...."a clutch is actually a wear and tear part" those were his words....

Re:Clutch slipping w/ only 25k miles?!?!?! whatdafuck?

WTF... that sucks because I'm sure a clutch job from Acura isn't cheap :P... Guess it's time to tell your sis to upgrade that clutch and join HMT ;D We could use a boosted RSX here.

Re:Clutch slipping w/ only 25k miles?!?!?! whatdafuck?

the "service advisor" said that the s already has a heavy duty clutch. I would never bring it to the dealer for something like that anyway.... i could probably get it done for like 500 else where at least thats what it was for my e36 with a clutch kit....

i changed my clutch and flywheel in less than 8 hours, and a lot of beer was involved that day, it shouldnt be hard on that car. it dosent have rusty ass nuts and prob isnt too dirty under the hood. ---- for 1600+oem clutch cost you could get a badass carbon fiber drag clutch.

Pull her on it. I've got the room and the tools. You bring the beer though. ;) We could have it done in a matter of a few hours(assuming you have opposable thumbs).

and i don't want no carbon nonsense i want to be able to press on the pedal and go

Re:Clutch slipping w/ only 25k miles?!?!?! whatdafuck?

baby the ---- out of the clutch and it will stay in its current condition for a long time.
I did that to my 300zx; it would slip like mad if i went over 1/4 throttle but i went 500+ miles city driving like that before i got the money (JWT clutch  )and time to get it fixed (was young and stupid then; got someone else to do it but he was cheap :).

but anyway; get your sister an auto-magic
------- women should not be allowed to drive

Alot of people don't realize that in between shifting they actually keep thier foot on the clutch pedal. That's probably what she does as regular routine and doesn't realize it. If it's not fully engaged, uh, it's not fully engaged. :P
