Clutch slippage, losing clutch fluid

I've been losing clutch fluid slowly-- I had my friend pump the clutch but I could see any leaking anywhere so it must be fairly slow, but if I drive say 30 miles stop and go shite, Its visibly lower in the resevoir. My clutch has been slipping a lot lately-- could this be in part because of lower clutch pressure from a leak? And any ideas where it could be leaking from/what could be causing the loss of fluid? any ideas appreciated

check the master and slave cylinder for leakage?

places to check for would be the slave cylinder, master cylinder, the braided hose and underneth the clutch pedal (yes inside the car) and that`s prob.ly your case. it oculd leak from the rod seal.

luckily the hydro clutch systems on hondas are easy to troubleshoot and fix.

do the basic stuff mentioned above, you'll find it.

Would the leak make the clutch slip? maybe? hopefully? please? I'm poor right now. Clutch > me

I don`t see hoe the clutch fluid could get into the disk, unless the slave cylinder is blinding

Re: Clutch slippage, losing clutch fluid

clutch is probably shot anyway...the level of fluid has nothing to do with how hard the clutch engages

My ek blew some ------- seal in the tranny which resulted in tranny fluid all over the clutch and it slipped :3

ok...let me rephrase: add on "unless the fluid is leaking onto the disc"

Re: Clutch slippage, losing clutch fluid

So I dug around a little and I found my leak-- its coming from what the haynes manual calls the release cylinder. Its the little cylinder on the front of the tranny-- theres a rod from the tranny that goes into it and the bleeder is kind of attached to it. I went to autozone but they don't carry the part-- any one know of a good place to get one? Napa was closed but maybe they do, or should I just try to find a used one? And how much $$$ will it cost me for a new one?

Re: Clutch slippage, losing clutch fluid

that`s the slave cylinder, should have been the first place to check for leaks.

Re: Clutch slippage, losing clutch fluid

You want the slave cylinder only, releasing bearing goes INSIDE of the bellhousing
