clutch opinions?
 

ill be buying a clutch soon and id like to support the hmt sponsors here... sooo

lsd motorsports carrys "lsd" clutches... looking at about $330 for what i would need in a lsd clutch ( 315lb ft capacity..and i would like to keep it a solid disk if possible)


tunertoys has ACT ----.. but the highest load capacity they cary is like 240lb ft.. not gonna work for me and plus its more expensive


i remember a while back someone else slinging cheap clutches that were getting a good response.. but i cant remember who it was and what the name was on the parts


anyone have any suggestions/ reccomendations

I've had a very good experience with my ebay XTD 6 puck stage 3 clutch. Right around $200 if I recall.

xtds usually either work really well or work like complete ass

my lsd is fine. its a clutch...it doesnt slip..not much else to say

Im buyin a XTD clutch kit and using a ACT six puck clutch that i got really cheap. ;)

I'm actually considering an XTD 6 puck once my clutch gives way.

I spent a ---- load on an ACT on my last setup, then sold the car a year later... I really wish I would have pulled the XTSS out of there before I sold it >:(

I don't feel like dropping another $400 on a clutch. For $150, I would be happy if the XTD lasts a year. Even if I have to replace it every year, the XTD is still a killer deal.

I have an XTD 6 puck in my EG, I have noticed that the pressure plate feels a bit weak in comparison to my ACT setup in my EF.

And I know it has nothing to do with the fact that the EG is hydrolic clutch, because I pulled the ACT out of the EG, for my EF.

So, If I were to do it again, I would put the XTD 6 puck disc with the ACT pressure plate.. but I guess its too late now....

I have the stage 3 xtd with 8lb flywheel it was a good deal. It does have chatter in reverse.

LSD 4 th3 win. i got the 6 puck sprung for D16 and beat the livin ---- outta it (seriously) for the last 20,000 miles.... finally it gave out at the end of this past season. and I will be buyin another in the spring!!!

I have the XTD ebay 6puck clutch- got it for 150 and its pretty solid- little bit of chatter- my stock clutch had tons of meat on it but hated 10psi ::)

I dont know if this helps but i just got a new six puck ACT unsprung for 45 bucks. ;D Just wanted to gloat on the good deal.

i have the xtd stage 3 on my d series. 150 shipped and it never let me down. 7500RPM launches on slicks and it loved every second.

what kinda power are you guys using the XTD making??


im gonna be a smidge over 300hp and i dont what that ---- slipping when it gets into boost

Did you buy it off eBay? I was looking yesterday and saw a 6 puck unsprung ACT disk on there for cheap. I just don't think I could live with an unsprung disk in my daily.

YES, I bought it on ebay. Its going into my daily but Im a broke mother fucka. I needed a new clutch and it was cheep so here we are.
