civic si ???

so last year I went out on impulse and bought an 05 accord 2 door for the wife, and its a really nice car, leather and xm and all that, but it has the 2.4 i-vtec and it is GUTLESS, now i pay enough a month for this car that i want it to a fun car when i drive it, which is actually quite a bit, so i want to trade it in and get something sportier, that actually has some balls, but i am limited to getting a car around $20,000 and i want a new car, not used, the first thing that came to mind is srt-4 because of out of the box performance, but then i decided that was not the right car because my wife will daily drive it in the snow etc. and i dont see that working out well, plus its a chrysler piece of poopy, and i want reliability, with all the things i want and the price i can spend, the "06 civic si seems to be the clear winner in my book, just wanted to know what everyone else thinks? any other ideas? i dont want to buy the wrong car again, because the accord was a mistake.....

New as in mechanical, or new as in new?

well i had 2 deposits on a new Si at 2 different dealerships and after getting screwed out of them both (seriously) i got the 04 Acura TL. Its faster, feels better built and i bet the insurance would be less than a new Si, and the price for a low mileage slightly used TL isnt wayy too much more than an Si/navi (if you look around you can find them for way under 25000) and you get the added pimp factor of such a nice car, and you can get in 6 sp man

My wife and I just got our '03 WRX for 16k- it's only got 61k miles on it, and I've never driven a better car in the snow than a subaru. fairly quick outta the box.

not near as nice inside though.

i'm for sure feeling the TL bug, but in order to get it financed the way i want it, i will have to buy a brand new car, 84 month term isnt available on a used car, but it makes the payments much easier...

TL would be the way to go. i wouldnt call 240hp gutless though for a stock japanese econocar -_-

Re: civic si ???

the 2.4 i-vtec has 165 hp/135 tq. in the accord
the 3.0 vtec in the v-6 accord has 240 hp, if i had that i wouldnt be getting rid of it, but that car cost about $30,000 mine was $24,000.... :-\
but i financed about $30,000 on it because i was upside down on my trade, as i will be this time, thats why i need a car around $20,000, sounds like a dumb thing to do, but if i have a car i want, then i will keep it... ::)

As much as I hate Mitusbishi, I think you'd have fun with an evo.

Cobalt SS Supercharged? I never thought I'd like one until I drove it. Go find one at a dealership and ask to test drive it, what do you have to lose?

Re: civic si ???

civic si is complete garbage and that is not sporty or quick. just economy car.

if i was in the market for an economy car cobalt SS supercharged all the way. not as fast as the srt4 but i think it looks a lot better
