civic 95 ecu in a 99?

Would it be safe to put a 95 ex ecu in my 99 ex? Would that hurt my engine? I saw this XS engineering ecu that has a higher redline and vtec kicks in sooner than my ecu, for only 15 dollars. Since it's only 15 bucks, I figure it might be worth a shot but that sounds tooooo cheap.

it wont work you trying to put a obd-1 ecu in an obd-2 car it wont clip together or anything it would be safe to run if everything was the same but everythign is different... if you want that ecu i suggest buying and ecu jumper for like 75 bucks from someone online that will just convert yout car from obd-2 to obd-1 and you wil be able to rock that ecu..

make sure the jumper is for 99-01 (obd-2.5 somepeople call it) becuase 96-98 odb-2 is different plugs and ----..

They are only selling the prom chip not the whole ECU. You need an OBD1 to OBD2b harness. If you can get your hands on a P28 ECU then do it. Then you can use Uberdata.
